The original photograph on this bag was taken in the yard of our old apartment in Milwaukee. We grew a variety of flowers for pollinators along our fence and monarchs are always a special gift! For many cultures in Mexico, seeing a monarch is a visit from your ancestors (similar to the way that many here in the U.S. view a visit from a cardinal) so monarchs are especially loved by my seven-year old, Luna.
